Quantem is pleased to announce it has been successfully awarded a grant from the Federal Government to undertake a further study into energy efficiency and electrification projects at its bulk liquid storage terminals in Queensland, Victoria and NSW.
The grant of $244,677 from the the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) will assist Quantem to improve energy efficiency and assess the potential for electrification of process heat applications and further decarbonisation opportunities across its sites.
These projects include heat exchange and recovery, heat pumps, electric steam generators, thermal storage and heat recovery opportunities.
“Quantem is committed to playing our part in contributing to Australia’s emissions reduction targets,” said Nick Moen, Quantem’s CEO.
“This is consistent with our incorporation of ESG objectives and decarbonisation into our core business strategy, including our net zero 2050 target and an annual emissions reduction target.
“The grant from ARENA will assist us in accelerating feasibility studies across our sites including the use of innovative technology to drive emissions reduction.
“This is an important initiative and will also support transformational improvements in industrial renewable energy and energy efficiency across the bulk liquids storage industry, and other industrial sites with industrial process heat applications,” he said.
